Who are we?
We are a diverse and engaged team that manage sourcing processes within the global commodities for Volvo CE. We are globally spread with the responsibility for supplier management, strategic sourcing including new technologies, commercials, quality and delivery.
We are in total 54 employees that work cross functionally connecting with our suppliers and stakeholders to bring value to our business.
Right now we are looking for a Global Commodity Buyer to be a part of our global Driveline & Motion team, located in Europe, preferably Sweden.
Job summary
As a global Commodity Buyer you will be responsible for developing and deploying our global commodity sourcing strategies for Driveline and Motion in line with our Volvo CE Business requirements.
You will manage Sourcing activities and Projects related to Driveline & Motion. At the same time you will be a source of innovative solutions for the Development of new Driveline technologies, which will require a lot of interactions with stakeholders cross functionally, such as Technology and Operations. You will be part of various cross-functional forums including Global Technology Council Driveline & EMOB.
Volvo CE strives to have the most competitive and innovative suppliers in our supplier pool. In order to secure this, your responsibility will be to search for, evaluate and introduce these suppliers to Volvo CE. You will then work actively with these suppliers to achieve excellent relationship that can bring long term competitive edge to Volvo CE and our customers.
Main tasks/responsibilities
Manage global commodity supplier base; lead commercial negotiations with suppliers including implementation of full Volvo Agreement packages;
Apply and share business intelligence to maintain a good knowledge of existing solutions and potential evolutions within the scope (new technologies);
Support to optimize products and process to achieve long-term contribution to Volvo CE’s improvements on quality, sustainability, capacity and cost (QSCC);
Conduct BRMs (Business Review Meetings) to review overall supplier performance relationship score and to align on common technology roadmaps

You have great cooperative and communication skills as you are dealing with multiple contacts both outside and inside of your organization. You have the ability to lead and are not afraid of taking on responsibility and standing up for yourself. You are used to working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
You have a strategic mindset and as a person you are target oriented and believe there is always room for improvements. You are well organized and structured and love taking on complex tasks. And you have a good understanding of sourcing commodity strategy process (Volvo Sourcing Process).
You have a University degree in engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar with several years of experience in purchasing/commodity area in relevant industry. Technical knowledge and proven negotiating skills is a must. You are fluent in English verbal and written communication.
