Hydraulic Controls – A part of Sourcing Global Commodities
Controls is one of two Hydraulic teams in the Sourcing Global Commodities organization, the other being Actuation & Fluids. Within this diverse and global team, we manage the full scope of hydraulics for Volvo CE. We engage in the early phases with Emerging Technologies, we support supplier strategy and selection in projects, and we collaborate closely with operations and aftermarket. Certainly, we also work deeply to support the journey towards sustainability, all this to ensure Volvo CE can reach the goal of Building the World we want to live in.
We are now powering up to further strengthening our team to drive the needed change and bring more creativity and innovation and increasing the work to build string relationships by adding a new Global Commodity Manager to the Hydraulic Controls team.
Job summary
In this job your main responsibilities will be to define the strategy and manage the total global business of selected sub-commodities. Together with the Commodity team and other internal and external stakeholders, you will be part of leading the task to deploy the sourcing strategies that will secure a sustainable and competitive business for your sub-commodities and Volvo CE
As a senior representative of the Controls team in Europe, you will also be the team’s representative in various forums acting on the team’s behalf. You will also act as Supplier Host for some of the major suppliers in Hydraulics, where you will assure strong alignment on executive level based on VCE’s strategic direction.
So, people management and relationship management are very vital capabilities needed in your future role.
You will be a member of a dynamic and global team and expected to take an active role in developing it and its members further with great teamwork, feedback and coaching that will support Volvo CE’s objective of Building the World we want to live in!
Who you are today
You have acquired great collaboration and communication skills from working in a multinational and multicultural environment, as you are dealing with multiple contacts both outside and inside of your organization. You like to take the lead and are not afraid of taking on responsibility.
You have a strategic mindset and as a person you are target oriented and believe there is always room for improvements. You are self-going, organized and structured and love taking on complex tasks.
You have at least a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar with some years of experience in strategic sourcing or business strategy. A high degree of technical knowledge and proven strong negotiating skills is a great advantage as well as previous leadership experience.
You have a growth mindset and a willingness to learn new things, but also to coach and support others to grow. You are fluent in English verbal and written communication, and you are a strong communicator. Experience from working with Hydraulics is a plus.
