Group Manager EATS Control

The department Control Systems is organized within the powertrain engineering organization of Volvo Group Trucks Technology in Gothenburg. Within the Control Systems department, we work with development and design of electronic control systems for Volvo?s heavy and medium duty diesel engines and gearboxes.

Our specific responsibility is to develop control algorithms for the driveline and related components for driveline management. This includes development of electronic hardware and software functions for all engines and automatic gearboxes. It is a rapidly growing area within product development and the total section is today about 160 people, divided on 9 groups.

We are currently reorganizing our department and are looking for group managers that would like to be part of forming the future Control systems as we become more agile and efficient as an organization in order to meet the expectations from our customers and employees.

Job Description
Our work is performed in an international environment together with our colleagues in France, Japan, Brazil and the US. Many activities are performed across the different sites and as a manager for this team you will focus a lot on cooperation, as well as the networking with the different customers within the global Volvo community. Networking skills will therefore be considered as a clear qualifier.
The EATS (Engine After treatment system) control group develops engine after treatment related functions in the Control System. The group will be internally organized with cross functional teams consisting of systems, software, and verification engineers working together to integrate new functions and features in support of our continuously evolving product portfolio.

As manager for the team, you will be responsible for
- Supporting targets on Quality, Delivery, Cost and Features in delivered control systems functions from the group.
- Secure and develop the competence within the team and recruit new team members
- Continuous improvement of processes and delivered services
- Contribute and deploy process, methods and tools for function development
- Inspire and coach the team in order to reach defined targets

You will also be a member of the Control Systems management team for the site and cooperate with projects and line functions both within the site and with corresponding departments in Hagerstown, Lyon, Ageo, and Curitiba.

- Experience from a group manager position or similar is preferred
- Education at M.Sc level or similar
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Practical experience from utilization of agile methods would be highly appreciated
