The Tube product area, within the business area Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT), is specialized in seamless and welded tubes and pipes and associated parts. Sandvik leads the world within the field of tubular products made of advanced alloys and of special stainless steels. Tube operates production facilities in nine countries and responds to world market needs for seamless tubing and long products in stainless steel for demanding applications. Primary markets are the chemical and petrochemical industries, oil and gas, power electronics and many other branches of industry in which high-level requirements are essential as concerns corrosion and mechanical characteristics, as well as reliability.

SMT R&D has the task of developing SMT's products and technical solutions and ensuring that the products continue to be competitive, so that SMT can continue to be world leading in its field. To meet the strategic challenges that Tube faces and follow SMT's strategic direction, we have now identified unimagined growth possibilities in the area of providing services, and can offer an attractive position with great potential for success.

Key performance areas
As Manager you will develop and implement a new business model. You will conduct pilot studies in order to develop and put in place concepts for how the sale of technical service and knowledge can be approached. Additionally you will conduct relevant market surveys.

You will report to a steering group.

The position involves traveling approximately 50 % of the time.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's in Engineering in the areas of materials, machining or chemistry. You should have previous experience working with technical sales and product development. Management experience and a background in materials are advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are prerequisite.

As an individual you are driven and have the mindset of an entrepreneur, with the ability to challenge the organization and change and improve the way of working. You have a strong will and great enthusiasm and enjoy working both independently and with others. As you will have a large network of contacts, it is important that you have good ability to establish and maintain relationships, both internally and externally.
