Arbetsbeskrivning

Sydkraft Nuclear Power AB is looking for a Head of Nuclear Back-end and Waste Management Passion for Energy
Uniper likes passionate employees and colleagues. Driven by passion, we ensure high-quality deliveries of electricity to industrial and domestic customers – every second of the day, all year round. With personal commitment, dialog, diversity and equality at work, we work together to deliver social benefit in real time – while simultaneously focusing our innovative efforts on tomorrow’s energy solutions. Or as we say: “Passion for energy.” We need more people who are passionate about energy and really want to make a difference. Are you one of them?
The Uniper Way - how we work Our employees are paving the way for Uniper’s success and future. We work together and engage in meaningful dialog. At Uniper, employees are able to develop and strengthen their individual skills. We embrace our entrepreneurial spirit and take responsibility, at every level of the Group. We have a joint approach, and our core values guide the Group’s daily work and how we perform our various activities. We call it “The Uniper Way.”

What we are looking for Taking care of waste generated from Nuclear power plant operation in an effective and sustainable manner is a key strategic item for the lifecycle value of the business, and lays the foundation for next generation of Nuclear in Sweden. The newly established Nuclear Back-end and Waste Management department has the responsibility for governance and steering of a highly effective Back-end system in Sweden.
As head of the department, you will work closely with multiple internal (waste producers) and external stakeholders, such as waste-handling organizations, to optimize Uniper’s stake in the Back-end system. The Nuclear Back-end and Waste Management department has recently been formed into its own department as a new prioritization by senior management and will grow to six members of staff (including the Executive Manager), which you will be part of recruiting and thereby shaping the department with your own personal touch. As Executive Manager you are expected to integrate these topics to the core of Nuclear Sweden.
Responsibilities include: · Impacting and influencing requirements for the back-end waste management system processes throughout the waste chain (internally and externally) · Back-end topics and active participation in the Management Team and potential board assignments · Financial impact of back-end issues in internal performance reviews
Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and our operations are covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act. Health and drug tests are performed if applicable.

Who we are looking for We are looking for a leader who can build a strong team and collaborate efficiently across different levels, departments and organizations. Being able to embrace the Uniper culture and build relationships and strong collaboration structures will be crucial. A successful candidate is likely to have previous experience and understanding of the energy/nuclear business and needs a holistic/strategic perspective and an ability to drive impact.
The Nuclear Waste Back-end Executive Manager will report directly to the COO Nuclear Sweden so this is a senior role which requires minimum (approx.) 5-10 years of experience from the energy sector (preferably nuclear) and 3-5 years of experience in a managerial position.
Academic and other qualifications: · Fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English · Master of Engineering, Business Administration, Science or similar
