Head of Operations Development - Rock Tools

Head of Operations Development - Rock Tools

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to be part of something new and exciting, where freedom, innovative thinking and bold ideas will take our manufacturing and supply chain into the next era? We have recently formed a new and autonomous Global Operations organization, and we’re now ready to gear up. Our goal is clear – we’re aiming to holistically optimize our entire global value chain and creating an effective, modern structure by using digitalization as a tool for success.

For this new organization within Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology and division Rock Tools, we’re looking for a brave and business minded Head of Operations Development. A role that offers you a great chance to make your mark on our business and really feel the pulse of a global industrial frontrunner filled with brilliant minds. We have the aspiration of setting the industry standard, and if you have the joy of discovery, an enthusiastic mindset and a strong drive, this is the job for you!

Well, what about the job?
Joining us in this central position in the Global Operations Management team, you set the roadmap for world-class manufacturing and supply chain, closely connected to our strategic business goals. This means challenging our current ways of working and implementing new, modern and digital perspectives that generate value – all the way from forecasting customer demand, through production and distribution to order fulfillment. You lead a team with responsibility for the total scope and to create change and really make things happen in our global and sometimes complex setting, you combine strategy, action and great collaborations. Your global leadership experience is naturally a great asset.

In your quest to generate high performance, you use Lean as a base, and you bring people, processes and technology together. You evaluate what future capabilities we must have and what investments we need to consider. You also gather industry insights, identify best practices and establish strong networks with relevant external partners. Creating overall and global value means connecting with stakeholders and partners worldwide. We do have one of our major hubs in Sandviken (Sweden), and as most members of your team are based here, we believe that this is where you also need to be located.

Your experience is important, and your personality is what makes you great!
Your background is formed within Supply Chain Management and you have experience from both Lean Manufacturing and Project Management, most likely by leading larger investments or change projects within operations development. Equally important is to understand business drivers and how to transform a vision into a strong activity plan – and of course deliver on the same! We believe that you have probably done a similar journey in your previous career, and you understand the benefits of digitalization, automation and new technology. As we’re a global player, you must be fluent in English, while knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.

Effectively balancing a strategic outlook with a doer’s attitude sets you up for success in this position. As you confidently take the lead and make necessary decisions, you’re also genuinely open for creative ideas and new perspectives. You’re the number one collaborator – a people person who speaks a language that suits the broad audience - and your inspiring ways help you to promote change and leave a positive impact.
