The Climate System department within Body and Trim is responsible for the complete climate system development e.g. heating, ventilation, AC systems, controls attributes and testing. This position reports to the group HVAC and Climate Control, although as your responsibilities are stretching from development to running programs, you will be working with people both within and outside the department.

As a Hardware Engineer within the group Climate Control your responsibility, together with SW engineers and assignment leaders, is to run and secure all electrical component development. The components you will be working with are e.g. sensors, blower motors, actuators, electric heaters and high voltage parts such as electric compressors with the climate department. You will work to meet requirements, project timing and cost in all types of projects. This includes plan, order and sometimes perform your own testing, which may requires working outside of office hours. You will be able to travel, as you are required to lead assignments by your own as well as participate in test trips both within Sweden and abroad. The role is broad and requires great communication skills. In return it comes with long term development opportunities in a dynamic working environment!

Main responsibilities

* Develop and secure suppliers' electric hardware specifications and design to match Volvo Car Corporation's requirements and functionality
* Support analyses of field quality issues and suggest corrective actions
* Act as the department's system safety engineer according to ISO 26262
Own and create specifications for the electric HW components used in the climate system, such as sensors, actuators and electric heaters
* Analyse customer feed back and benchmarking in order to improve current and future product

Required qualifications

* Minimum a B.Sc. degree within Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics or similar
* Experience of electric hardware
* Driver's license
* Excellent English and Swedish, both verbally and written
* Meritorious is working experience from the automotive industry and climate systems, in-vehicle diagnostics and tools, ISO 26262 and experience from design and development
* Meritorious is development together with suppliers and quality assurance of electrical HW

* You are self-going, able and willing to lead development efforts
* You have excellent communication skills to match the demands of an international work environment
* You are flexible, creative and like to find alternative solutions to solve upcoming problems
