We work with Scania's production units globally (Europe, Brazil, China) in technology areas that are strategic for two or more production units. Examples of core technology areas are joining technology, metal cutting, process fluids, assembly technology and surface treatment. We also work with simulation-driven development where our Digital Factory team have responsibility for applications in flow simulations, factory layouts, robot simulations, CNC simulations, assembly and process planning. 

We at Industrial Engineering Manufacturing (VEEM) are now looking for a specialist with overall responsibility for the area of Joining Technology and with deeper knowledge in one or more of the following areas:


• Laser and MIG/MAG welding
• Resistance welding
• Soldering and brazing
• Adhesive bonding
• Non-destructive testing
• Mechanical joining

Your work assignments

Your area of expertise is joining technology and the role includes:


• Develop a strategic plan for the development of your technology area together with experts at our production units.
• Work with activities aiming at fulfilling the strategic plan
• Lead one or more cross-functional networks within your technology area.
• Initiate and run both shorter and longer assignments for our production units. The work is usually done at the customer's premises, which means travel within Sweden but also occasionally to Europe and South America.
• Participate in standardization work and development of common methods.
• Educator in annual half-day course
• Collaboration with R&D and participation in pre-development projects as well as benchmarking activities.
• Update the department's technical roadmap in your technology area.

Your profile
You are passionate about joining technology and would like to work for all Scania´s production units. You have deep knowledge in joining technology, more than 5 years of work experience and are an engineer or have equivalent education.
