As part of FedEx´s Planning & Engineering department, you will handle various tasks within problem-solving, continuous improvement processes, workflow optimization, and operational site planning and design.

The Planning & Engineering team for the Nordics and Ireland currently has eight members placed in Copenhagen, Dublin, and Stockholm and is now planning to expand the team in Stockholm. You will be part of a positive and strong team that continuously collaborates both nationally and globally to achieve the best results. Your primary working language is English.

In your role in FedEx logistics, you will also have the opportunity to participate in the work with the largest implementation in the logistics industry ever – the merger between FedEx and TNT.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

In your role at FedEx, you will deal with complex, strategic issues as well as minor improvements in operations. Your main work tasks will include:

 

• Analyzing, identifying and defining the need for improvement in processes to maximize its efficiency
• Analyzing large amount of data to optimize transport flow
• Adapting and using modeling tools to translate complex analysis into accurate and realistic operational plans
• Conducting studies e.g. the implementation of new technology, facility design, functional specifications, and feasibility studies
• Communicating new plans to internal departments to ensure understanding and then support the implementation
• Serving as an internal consultant to e.g. operational management in various projects related to problem-solving and service improvement

IN ADDITION...

FedEx is looking to hire a full-time engineer. The position includes mostly work at the office in Stockholm, but partial work at other the FedEx and TNT´s offices in Sweden and the Nordic countries. It will also include some training and collaboration projects with regional teams at other European offices, such as Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

WHO ARE YOU?

To succeed in this role, you probably have an engineering degree with a focus on logistics, statistics, economics or equivalent. You have previous experience from an analytical role and have good knowledge of Excel, SQL, and databases. In this role, you´ll work in several business systems, such as SAP and Oracle, etc. We think you have a background as an analyst or as a statistician in logistics, finance or technology and have experience in process optimization. FedEx´s official language is English and it´s, therefore, a requirement that you have good knowledge in both speech and writing. Knowledge in Swedish is a merit but not a requirement.

As a person, you are self-driven, thorough and flexible. Since the role involves many internal and external contacts, you´re a good communicator and have a good ability to create and maintain long-term working relationships. You like to work on several different projects and are motivated by finding the best and most effective solution for a problem.
