In Group IT the Service Development and Operations department is responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing end to end IT services. Through projects, applications and infrastructure operations the department fulfils a vital role in securing business value and operational efficiency for IT services.

You will be responsible for the section Development and Professional Services which includes approximately 56 employees and 200 consultants. The section is responsible for delivery of all decided development projects at time, cost, content and quality as well as operability over time.

As IT Director Development and Professional Services you will have a profound impact on the future of IT in Volvo Car Group, by being responsible for all development projects and programs and to deliver professional services to pre-studies and early stages of projects. Further, you will secure global methods and tool for Program Management and IT development.

Main responsibilities

* Develop IT Services and solutions including End User services and solutions
* Deliver approved pre-studies and program/projects
* Procure and supply services required to deliver Projects/Programs
* Assign and supply Professional Services (Project Managers, Technical Experts, Business Analysts, Solution architects etc.)
* Management of allocated development resources from other functions
* Manage programs/projects
* Manage and supply development tools and methods (except legacy tools)
* Ensure program/project alignment with program/project objectives and the IT strategy
* Benchmark, review industry trends, and perform technology-watch to proactively explore solutions to support and improve operations
* Provide status reports of major projects
* Improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality in our way of working with projects and programs

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent working experience
* Long professional experience within the IT service development area
* At least 1-2 years in Delivery Management/Project Management and/or Change Management
* Good knowledge of scoping, planning and estimation, execution, reporting and closure
* Buyer/negotiation experience
* Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
* ITIL Foundation v3 Certification is meritorious
* Experience of end to end Project Management skills is meritorious
* Experience from larger organizational change/transformation is meritorious
* Familiar in using basic PM and reporting tools for tracking, costing, scheduling, and budgeting
* Preferably worked in agile model is meritorious
