Junior Linux Systems Administrator

NASDAQ OMX is currently looking for a Junior Linux Systems Administrator to further strengthen our team in Stockholm. You will provide service to our global organization and report to the Head of Open Systems based in New York.

Work tasks
During your first 6-12 months you will get to learn our complex system of different platforms. You will plan for, schedule and conduct upgrades on operating systems and related software or systems software as well as perform regularly systems patching and security updates. Together with the team you will do Linux systems configuration, capacity planning and performance monitoring. To create, maintain and update platform documentation and standard operating procedures is also an important part of your job. Once you are familiar with all systems you will be the driving force behind our automation of the Linux platforms. You will contribute to maintaining the integrity of our systems by insuring overall resiliency of the platforms. We will rely on you for ideas of improvement and to make sure that our installations are compliant from a security perspective. You will be expected to perform on-call systems administration in a 24/7 rotating schedule.

Qualifications
You are probably a recent graduate from a Vocational college (Swe: KY-utbildning) in Computer Science or equivalent. You might also have a Swedish high school diploma in Computer Science combined with up to 2 years of work experience. You must have experience, from school or work, from Linux virtualization implementation, support and upgrades. You are fluent in English and Swedish in both speak and writing.

To suit this position you should be a proactive and driven person. You are interested in the latest technology and you have the ability to explain the advantage of it to other people.
