Job Description
Vattenfall BA Markets is looking for a KYC (“Know your customer”) and Quality Officer with placement in Solna, Sweden.
The function is placed within the Compliance team of BA Markets consisting of 4 compliance officers, a responsible sourcing manager and the advertised position.
Amongst other things, the team manages the BA Markets’ Know-your-customer (KYC) process. In this process counterparties are scrutinized with regard to risk for money laundering, terrorism financing, lacking social responsibility etc. The team is also responsible for compliance with regulations, which includes tasks such as trainings, controls and the drafting of internal instructions.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
KYC: The tasks will be to administer and conduct the BA Markets’ KYC process by regularly reviewing and approving counterparties, both at onboarding of new counterparties and on a continuous basis for existing counterparties. Focus is process development and administration (documentation, reporting and coordination) and conduct of an initial standardized counterparty screening routine. Where applicable forwarding of screening request to the compliance and responsible sourcing officer for further assessments. The KYC officer is the contact for the front desk before onboarding the counterparties, the compliance and responsible sourcing officers and the KYC Board that consists of managers, to which process adjustments and decisions on high risk counterparties can be escalated.
Audit coordination: Maintain the overview about ongoing audits within BA Markets and tracking of findings from completed audits. Be the administrative contact for Group audit and making sure that any audit findings are solved within the time frame agreed.
Administration of the Management System (MS): The BA Markets MS is the steering framework consisting of documented business policies and instructions. The responsibility includes the handling of the approval process and publication for new and updated business instructions.



Qualifications
A university degree in economics or law school or relevant experience with KYC screenings
A generally good understanding of how large companies work is needed to drive these processes
Excellent English skills are required. The job requires a lot of internal communication both within BA Markets but also with other group functions e.g. Sustainability team.
Experience of reviewing customers/counterparties. In case of not being fully experienced within the field, the compliance officers will provide a training-on-the-job.
Working background in the utility or power and energy commodity trading sector is good to have.
