Laboratory technician/sample preparation

Laboratory technician/sample preparation

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for a summer worker to our laboratory at Björkdalsgruvan in Kåge to cover for our employees while they are on their vacations.

CRS Laboratories is a service laboratory company experienced in chemical consulting, method development and analysis. At our laboratory in Kempele, Finland, we offer inorganic analysis with different methods, combined with various sample preparation techniques. We also offer service to run on-site laboratories at client locations, such as our laboratory at Björkdalsgruvan in Sweden, among with our main laboratory and other on-site laboratories in Finland.

Your work tasks
As a laboratory technician with CRS, you will work mainly with sample preparation. This includes drying, weighing, crushing/splitting and pulverizing samples using the PAL1000-method to get them ready for AAS-analysis. Sample preparation is the foundation of accurate and reliable analytical results, and needs to be done with great care to ensure that there is no cross contamination between samples.

Who are you?
To be successful as a laboratory technician, you need to:
· Realize the responsibilities and dangers that come with handling potent chemicals. Safety is always our number one priority, and following safety instructions and regulations is crucial to ensure a safe work environment.
· Have physical endurance.
· Take your own initiatives.
· Be service minded.
· Have good social skills.
We also believe that you are a fast and eager learner that can think two steps ahead and enjoy taking part of a process and see it through from start to finish.

Other merits
Having a driver’s license and a car is important because of the remote location of the mine. Public transport is very limited and you may also be required to drive within the mining area from time to time.
Because of the multicultural work environment, English is key to understanding written instructions and communicating with colleagues. Swedish is of course a merit, as well as a chemical, technical and mechanical understanding. However, your personal traits and other skills are of course of great importance too.

This is a summer job where you would be working seven days, followed by seven free days. There is also a chance of an extended employment after the summer.
Send you application via e-mail to both christian.adam@crs.fi & john.renstrom@crs.fi and be sure to include a CV and a personal letter.
