As Local Business Line Strategic Supply Manager you will be part of our global Supply Chain Management team and the Ports business line within the Marine and Ports division that is the world’s largest supplier of crane systems specialized in advanced automation and information systems for all types of container handling cranes. With global responsibility for container systems within ABB we offer an international and dynamic working environment where our business delivers advanced technology in large projects across the world in a customer oriented and highly globalized industry.
Your main (objective) task will be to implement Supply Chain Management strategies and Supply Management processes. You will also collaborate with other business lines, our Center of Excellence and global category managers to ensure the best overall output for the business.
The role reports to
Head of Marketing and Sales, ABB Ports
Your responsibilities
Leading and managing sourcing projects (e.g. new sources approval, supplier process optimization, design cost out action, outsourcing), aiming at total cost saving, risk mitigation, improvements of supplier on time delivery and/or PPM and/or lead time and/or sustainability impact, with cross functional involvement of R&D and Operations (e.g. quality and planning).
Negotiation and management of supply contracts/agreements, terms and conditions (e.g. price lists definition, breakdown cost updates according to raw material trend, delivery, inventory and quality terms agreement).
Ensuring identification and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on integrity, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with category strategy defined by global and regional (HUB) category leaders and in line with Company directives and guidelines.
Managing planning, reporting and tracking of procurement activities and cost budgets. Minimizing risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines.
Making sourcing strategy, evaluate and develop the supply base. Introducing new suppliers as appropriate to meet the current and future needs of the business.
Defining and reaching targets for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation in the responsible category
Identifying, tracking and implementing cost saving actions to meet the productivity targets for the category.
Monitoring the market and carry out cost analysis within the responsible material group to clear the production process, cost driver and technical trend and providing support to escalate, drive recovery plans and resolve supplier quality/delivery/financial issues.

Your background
Master or Bachelor´s degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant coursework.
Experience in procurement, sourcing, financial structures, supply chains, profitability and understanding of the supply market.
Adaptability to fast-changing environment, ability to work also in virtual and multicultural environment. “Out of the box” thinking and "problem solving" attitude.
Continuous improvement mindset with a business-driven and fact base on approach towards suppliers with a focus on building long-term relationship.
