Northvolt has exciting job offers for Formation & Aging / Assembly Process Engineers to join our bold team in Västerås, Sweden.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. We are looking for Process Engineers to join the Formation and Aging / Assembly Process teams in the R&D Pilot Plant. The role will require deep knowledge in process design, equipment handling, maintenance planning and control design. We are looking for energetic engineers who have the necessary skills to interface with equipment suppliers and to collaborate with Northvolt's Factory Design Team to develop new methodologies or improve our current Formation & Aging / Assembly processes.
You will play an important role in driving innovative solutions to technical challenges that will lead to improvements in yield, cost, quality or efficiency of the process and relevant experience is desirable.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and issue process designs (Assembly and Formation) as well as providing support to the Production Team.
Provide guidance and technical direction to the process engineering team.
Assign tasks, and coordinates team members to deliver process engineering deliverables.
Identifies, collaborates, and solves process related concerns.
Establish process metrics and goals
Creating, processing, visualising and analysing datasets.
Data driven planning and execution of process DOEs.
Implement and support standardised process for industrialisation.
Investigate and implement plans to apply novel process technologies.

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor or Master Degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Process Engineering or other similar fields.
Experienced in Engineering Foundation with understanding in electrical, mechanical, and chemical domains.
Experiences in Statistics, data analysis and visualisation.
Excellent English. Other language skills such as Korean and Japanese are a plus.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to simultaneously handle different activities.
Grit, a can-do attitude, a great eye for detail, and a curious mind.
Passionate & purpose driven.
Bonus Points:
Experience from battery or manufacturing industry.
Knowledge in Formation & Aging / Assembly processes
Experience in a multicultural start-up environment
Experience in quality management and problem solving like DMAIC, six sigma, lean, SPC, etc.
Project management experience
Engineer In Training Certification (EIT) or equivalent
