What you´ll do:

As our first in-house Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success by overseeing all legal and regulatory matters. You will achieve this by building and leading a best in class legal and compliance function. Your focus will be to facilitate our business objectives by providing practical and effective legal advice while minimising legal and regulatory risks.

You will be a part of the management team and report to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as our chief legal and compliance officer you will design and build out efficient and scalable frameworks and processes to ensure we are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor and advise on relevant legal and regulatory developments and trends.
- Coordinate with all parts of the business to assist, design and implement compliance and risk management strategies.
- Provide legal advice and support in all areas, including regulatory compliance, employment and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate business contracts and other legal documents.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies.


Who you are:

- Professional experience as a lawyer (5+ years) from a law firm, the financial sector or other regulated industry
- Knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements within payment services and banking, including with PSD2 and GDPR.
- Proactive, organised with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and scaling environment
- Positive, can-do attitude and curiosity to learn and support as many business areas as possible.
- Passion for problem-solving and an ability to work independently
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swedish.
