Legal Counsel - Commercial

Reporting directly to Vice President, Chief IP and Legal Counsel, the Legal Counsel will have a broad range of responsibilities counseling the company on commercial development. This is an exciting role where you will be part of a legal team which provides expert assistance to the organization on commercial matters. The role provides ample opportunity to work with legal matters from a business and R&D perspective, to be part of an agile and growing team and being able to participate in further shaping the legal function and legal Services in a global company with operations in the highly competitive automotive industry. The Legal Counsel will be part of an international Legal and IP team and will gain excellent international experience and have opportunities to grow with the business.



Responsibilities and tasks

- Supporting and guiding different business units within the organization including Purchasing, R&D, IT and HR with legal matters.
- Contributing further to the development and improvement of policies, tools and processes.
- Managing internal projects, trainings and processes, and driving cross-functional efforts to successful completion.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating all types of agreements in support of the teams at Purchasing, R&D, IT and HR.
- Establishing good relationships and working closely with internal (including Geely Legal) as well as with external contacts, e.g. law firms.
- Coordinating and communicating complex legal issues. 








Requirements

- Academic master’s degree in law, preferably with focus business commercial law, anti-trust laws and Intellectual Property (IP) law.
- A few years’ experience of working at a law firm or from working in a legal department.
- Preferably experience from an international and multi-language environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills Fluency in English, both oral and written.
- Being thorough, but still with the ability to prioritize and focus on problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- A creative and curious mind Ability to travel An entrepreneurial mind-set
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian – European culture.
