Legal Counsel to Apsis International HQ in Malmö Sweden

Your role:

As the Legal Counsel you will ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations dealing with intellectual property, privacy, content regulation, consumer protection and advertising. In addition you will provide legal advice to various teams ranging from Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Communications, Sales, etc. It will be from the initial stages of product development to launch; and will develop and maintain a repository of legal resources that are required for products, such as terms of service, privacy notices and other disclosures.

The ideal candidate will have solid transactional and product counselling experience with expertise in global privacy, compliance, data breach, information security, and data governance. In additions to this the candidate must have extensive experience in commercial contracts, negotiations and is passionate about the opportunity to and thrives in a leadership role that requires cross-functional collaboration.

The Legal Counsel reports to the CFO and will advise the organization to manage legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance on a broad range of legal issues. High integrity and excellent judgment in balancing legal risks with business strategy are essential. 

Responsibilities:



• Developing forward-looking privacy strategy, policies, and tools to engender trust in the areas of privacy and data usage

• Reviewing and negotiating inbound and outbound agreements

• Creating forms, agreements, policies, and internal documentation

• Working with HR on employee issues – domestic and international

• Contributing to gap analysis against different regimes (Nordics Law, EU law, etc.)

• Maintaining company registrations

• Supporting sales, security, engineering, product management, business development and human resources

Required Skills / Experience:



• Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant privacy and transactional experience (a mix of in-house and law firm experience preferred)

• Bring a depth of knowledge and experience with privacy, data security laws, and regulations

• Ability to translate that knowledge across the company to deliver relevant and actionable guidance to the business

• Possess excellent legal judgment and the ability to be both pragmatic/business-oriented and strategic

• Excel when working independently and collaboratively, and have a record of developing strong working relationships with a diverse client base

• Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage many projects simultaneously
