For our Business and Legal Affairs department in Stockholm we are recruiting a (full time)
Legal Counsel
The business and legal affairs department in Stockholm is primarily responsible for providing legal advice to the offices in the Nordic countries. As part of Viacom International Media Networks Northern Europe we also cooperate closely and work together with the lawyers and other departments at our offices in Amsterdam, Berlin and Warsaw.
Responsibilities:
* Provide advice on various intellectual property and marketing law matters
* Manage regulatory and corporate matters
* Drafting, negotiating and coordinating contracts with, inter alia, television distributors, artists, ad sales clients, production companies, dubbing studios, collecting societies etc
* Continuously monitor developments in relevant legislation both in the Nordic and EU
* Performing other day-to-day legal and business affairs-related tasks on an as needed basis
Requirements:
* Master of Laws degree, LL.M (preferably specialized in intellectual property law/media law)
* At least 2 years relevant experience, preferably with a corporate law firm or at an in-house corporate law department. Relevant experience in media is a plus; i.e. a broadcaster, content distribution company, studio, collecting society, production company or similar is meriting
* Experience in intellectual property law (in particular copyright law), marketing and media law and experience in drafting commercial contracts
* Exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow-through, a pragmatic approach to resolve complex and less complicated legal issues and, excellent analytical skills
* The ability to understand business interests, to translate these interests to hands on legal advice and ability to work together with business teams productively
* Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills; flexible team player, able to work in a team environment
