The role Logistics Engineer - Strategic Network Planning is located within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report to the Head of Logistics Strategy & IT. The purpose of the function is to support the strategic development of a cost, service and lead time efficient and reliable logistics network and prepare recommendations for changes of the network. The function is also responsible for providing the purchasing function with direction to develop and run successful RFQs. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main responsibilities
· Continuously assess the effectiveness of the existing global logistics network through qualitative and quantitative analysis
· Gather information regarding inefficiencies and wanted improvements of the network both from within the logistics organisation and directly from other internal stakeholders, logistics service providers and other parties
· Identify and analyse improvement suggestions for optimising the network (e.g. new routes, alternative transport concepts or modes, adjusted frequency etc.)
· Prepare and present clear recommendations on network changes that are supported by thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis and simulations
· Proactively assess and communicate impact from major changes to the network (e.g., volumes, new suppliers, new providers) to relevant stakeholders
· Apply simulation modelling to support sophisticated evaluation of network design and to be used in preparation of supplier negotiation
· Identify optimal network specifications and suggest requirements towards suppliers
· Work closely with Logistics procurement to support with data on relevant routes, volumes, wanted changes in network and tender specifications for the RFQ process
· Evaluate RFQs together with Logistics procurement using leading methodologies and tools
· To ensure the Logistics network is analysed and optimised in line with the strategy
· To identify improvements and recommendations are communicated to relevant stakeholders

Required qualifications
· University degree in Logistics engineering
· Broad knowledge and understanding of logistics - and planning processes
· Working knowledge of transport/carrier operations, transport concepts and distribution methods
· Experience from optimisation of logistic networks including knowledge of computer-based design and analysis tools, network & route optimization, simulation and database analysis is preferred
· Fluent in English
