What you will do:

At Volvo Cars, the Transport Planning and follow up team are planning and setting up transports according to forecast and capacity on all our incoming transports to our production sites and consolidation centres both as well as return flows of packaging to suppliers. Our purpose is to identify and drive improvements and development of cost, service, and lead-time on a tactical (short -mid-term) level. As a team member within this team you will improve, develop and implement the inbound transportation network as well as integrate new material part suppliers and carriers to create a reliable and efficient logistics network. This function adapts the chosen transport mode to line speed changes. We play an important role and has a critical impact to meet Volvo Cars’ budget for IBL costs. Therefore, we make sure that deviation related to transport planning and cost are followed up, and activities set to improve performance. Continuous improvements is a part of our daily business.
We drive X-functional investigations and analysis within SCM and with our different stakeholders on a tactical level. We are a key member to various project and RFQs and we work close to our procurement, plants, consolidations centres and carriers.
This position reports to the Senior Manager Global Inbound Optimization and you will have a Senior Logistics Engineer to support you in the daily operations.

You and your skills

We think you have a B.Sc. degree within Supply chain/Logistics or equivalent relevant working experience and fluency in English both spoken and written.  If you have an operational background and/or experience in logistic processes, transportations or forwarding business, that knowledge is highly beneficial.
To succeed in this role, you have strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel and understand operational planning and resource allocation. You have strong communication skills as this role interacts with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally. You enjoy working in collaboration with different partners internally and outside the company. A global environment gives you additional drive and energizes you!
You have proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented because this will be needed in your daily tasks. As a person your strengths are knowing when to prioritize and at the same time work analytically and have a problem-solving manner. To conclude, you are team-oriented individual that has a holistic approach and you enjoy working with tasks where you use your communicative skills.  You work with a positive and innovative mind-set that everything is possible.
