With our Surface Division Drilling and Exploration Products, we have a market-leading position globally and are investing heavily in technology and product development to stay competitive and provide our customers with world-leading, sustainable, and safe products.
The Surface division R&D organization is growing fast and the technology is shifting. We need to make sure that we have a healthy and sustainable organization that supports Epiroc’s exciting journey to accelerate the transformation of our industry.
This role is a part of a new team added to ensure our transition towards digitalization, automation and CO2 reduction within the areas of power systems, control systems and application.

Your mission
As Group Manager Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for forming a clear mid- and long-term strategic plan for system development to safeguard growth within new areas, maintain high focus on current areas and strive towards reaching Epiroc’s ambitious sustainability goals with a healthy workplace intact. You will manage the Systems Management Team, consisting of Team Managers and System Architects, fostering a diverse and innovative team focused on delivering on-time results with quality and cost-efficiency in mind, while contributing to accelerating the transformation.
Some of your responsibilities will include to:
* In close collaboration with other group managers, lead the Local system management team and ensure efficient teams.
* Be part of and actively contribute to the local R&D management team.
* Assist the creation of strategic plans in collaboration with the Global Control System Development Center, managers, architects, specialist and other key individuals.
* Establishing an effective cross-functional collaboration within technical, resources and process matters.
* Establish and maintain collaboration with both internal partners and divisions as well as external partners.
* Resource planning from strategic perspective.


Your profile
You have several years’ experience from leading technical teams in combination with a suitable background in software development, electric, hydraulics, electrical drivelines or similar. It is important that you have technical understanding of control system development and platforms.  Basic knowledge or experience from mining, construction and/or drilling applications is advantageous. 
Your experience should include good knowledge of formal managerial responsibilities (such as salary settings, P&D talks, salary reviews, recruitment etc.) as well as strategic planning of resources, budgeting, developing organizations, and establishing external partnerships.
To excel in this position, you should showcase outstanding leadership skills and a strategic aptitude for guiding the system management team effectively. This involves not only crafting a well-organized, long-term development plan but also implementing it with precision. It requires the insight to place individuals in roles that suit them best, fostering cross-divisional and cross-functional collaboration to optimize product development. Your ability to identify opportunities and embrace change will be crucial for success in this dynamic role.
