Purpose/Key Objective of the Position:
The Engineering/Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the plant, grounds and equipment and all project related activities performed by the Engineering and Maintenance Department and will assume the responsibility of Site Responsible Engineer (SRE).

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all activities of the PEM and Reliability Engineering and coordinate maintenance hourly resources for project work, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM).
- Oversee plant PM program and Critical Spare Parts program.
- Initiate training programs as required for engineering and maintenance personnel.
- Manage and prioritize all plant maintenance requests, applying sound engineering and reliability principles.
- Interact with suppliers of equipment, engineering services, and construction and related services.
- Manage contracts for maintenance including (but not limited to) lift trucks, elevators, scales, grounds maintenance, security, snow removal, cleaning contractors, etc. And, supervise the operation of plant utility equipment including nitrogen, chilled water, boilers, and thermal oxidizer.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with municipal licensing requirements including elevator and boiler licensing, operating permits, inspections, etc.
- Supports and works with the Lean Six Sigma projects and other improvement teams.
- Monitors department overtime and manages to budget. Produce project cost estimates as required.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

- A college degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of five (5) years direct experience in facilities, maintenance or process management in a chemical processing or industrial plant operations.
- Good general knowledge of all applicable Building Codes, OSHA standards, Process Safety Management, Hazard Study concepts, Machine Design, blue print reading, wiring diagrams, plant utilities, and general management concepts.
- Possess very good mechanical, electrical and computer system abilities and capable of reading all types of drawings.
- Understand all Codes related to storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids.
- Knowledge and experience in project management and capital equipment purchases.
- Highly mobile and in generally good physical condition as the job requires access to all areas of the plant and many areas that are not generally intended for normal use. Also be able to wear all required safety equipment and protective clothing as required (such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, vapor and/or particulate respirators, safety gloves, hard hat, etc.)
- Analytical approach to problem solving, strategic mind-set and ability to manage multi-tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as be PC literate in the use of MS Excel, MS Power Point and SAP.
