Manager Stamping CAE & Die Development

The Stamping Engineering organization is responsible for all stamping feasibility performed within Volvo Car Group. The department is a part of Stamping Engineering section within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization.

The Stamping CAE & Die development group includes 16 persons totally. 8 persons are working as analysis engineers with sheet metal forming simulations. We have two technical specialists, Research & Advanced Engineering and Stamping Feasibility. In addition we have Die development, Standard regarding stamping dies, Simulation of automation and two Subject matter experts (SME) within stamping presses and stamping automation. We work in all new car projects and the responsibility starts with support to styling in early project phases and generally ends when the manufacturing of the dies starts but we also support with second line analysis if problems occur during running production. We are also working with advanced engineering projects within forming simulation, material characterization, process development, press line automation, stamping presses and die development. Within the SME role we are responsible for installation projects regarding press lines and stamping automation equipment within Volvo Cars. We are responsible for the technical specification and standard regarding stamping dies.

As a Manager at Stamping CAE & Die Development you are responsible to lead and develop the team of Stamping Engineers. The tasks include personnel matters such as salary revisions, personnel development, and resource planning and asses performances. You will also be responsible for develop new effective working methods and secure the time and quality aspects of the projects.

Main responsibilities

* Responsible for managing and developing the Stamping Engineering's activities
* Control and manage the department, which means to hold department meetings, performance appraisals, develop personnel, perform salary revisions and resource planning activities
* Drive the development of new effective working methods and Advanced Engineering projects.
* Secure that the department deliver our tasks in time with right quality in the projects
* Secure manning and continuous competence development
* Secure the cross functional work

Required qualifications

* Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with focus on mechanical engineering
* Documented leadership experience
* Fluent in Swedish and English both written and spoken
* Master's degree within mechanical engineering is meritorious
* Experience from sheet metal forming simulation and Die process engineering regarding "sheet" applications i.e. automotive parts is meritorious
* Experience from Finite Element Model calculation and knowledge regarding stamping dies is meritorious and also experience in project work and advanced engineering projects.
