Manager to the Chemistry Group

We are now looking for a manager for our Chemistry Group. The position is placed at RISE Processum, Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Do you want to join us?

RISE Processum AB is a leading partner within biorefinery development. With forest residues and biproducts as starting material RISE Processum, together with its partners, develops new green processes and products such as fuel, green chemicals and materials. Together with other biorefinery initiatives RISE Processum’s cluster with partners from industry and academia is an important part for development of new products, processes and energy solutions from biproducts from the process industry or other lignocellulosic starting materials. RISE Processum is owned to 60% by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and 40% by Processum Interest group and is thereby a subsidiary within RISE. The company was formed in 2003 and is situated in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. RISE Processum offers an innovative research environment with lab, pilot and demonstration scale equipment that is strongly connected to existing industrial processes within the biorefinery field.

About the position
As Manager you will manage a unit of about 10-15 people. Together with RISE Processum’s management team and your coworkers, you will work through the overall objectives for RISE and create clear and concrete goals for RISE Processum and your group. The goal is to generate tangible results, both quantitative and qualitative, and satisfied customers. You will work closely with our customers and you will help us to further develop our various offers.

You will be responsible for continuing to build and develop a motivated and productive team by developing your coworkers. You will convey an inspiring vision, give unambiguous instructions and set clear demands for results based on defined objectives. Creating conditions for collaboration and being able to delegate are important, as is giving and receiving feedback. Leadership is based on dialogue and open communication and is adapted to the situation and the individual.

You will be present and available without sacrificing your role as a representative of the employer. You will help to strengthen our capacity for innovation and research development together with colleagues within RISE and with our partners. We expect you to have a strong network in the business sector and the public sector, as well as with universities and colleges.

Who are you?
To be successful in the role we expect you to be a natural leader and role model who motivates optimal performance from your coworkers. You are responsive and a good listener. What motivates you is delivering benefit to others and engaging your coworkers through inspiring and courageous leadership. You involve and coach your coworkers in their task of creating customer benefit and clear results. You are passionately interested in different domain areas and how they can work together to generate innovation, strengthen our research and test and demo activities as well as increase our commercial focus.

We expect you to have a professional approach and inspire confidence in both customers and coworkers. It is very important that you are a team player with a high ability to collaborate. You will have a university education within Chemistry, or equivalent that is relevant to the unit and you speak and write Swedish and English in a professional manner. Furthermore, it is of benefit if you have previous managerial experience and if you have led research and/or development projects. Some travel may be involved.
