Manufacturing System Engineer

As Manufacturing System Engineer you will act within the department Body in White at CEVT and Geely. You will provide upfront input to both styling and product engineering to enable competitive styling, dimensional and perceived quality, manufacturability, and reduced manufacturing complexity. We are searching for competent team members within both Under Body and Top Hat.

Responsibilities and tasks

The responsibilities for the role is to drive process driven product design within the dedicated area of responsibility and support in aligning. You will ensure application and fulfillment of all external and internal guidelines in respect to all business aspects within the dedicated area of responsibility. You will be responsible for giving input to Change Management and support to keep financial targets on track for all assigned Projects. 

This role requires to manage and communicate the assembly structure plan (POPS) within the dedicated area of responsibility and ensure BOP alignment. Another part of the role is also to manage Engineering (BGK) meetings within the dedicated area of responsibility, creating and managing 2D & 3D clamping within the dedicated area of responsibility, and you will also be participating in design review meetings at factory fixture suppliers.

Requirements

- A degree as a certified engineer in mechanical engineering, automotive process engineering or industrial engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in body manufacturing or body manufacturing engineering
- Manufacturing plant knowledge and experience for at least 2 years
- Cross functional assignments and global experience
- Subject experience concerning the production of single parts, assembly concepts, manufacturing methods, design features, clamping concepts, planning processes, quality requirements, measuring methods for bodies.
- Good knowledge of statistical process control



Knowledge

- Profound technical, professional and product knowledge
- Comfortable with stretched targets/challenges while acting professionally in a matrix team
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Thorough knowledge of dimensional engineering and body manufacturing process’s
- Ability to read product drawings, GD&T drawings and Tool Design drawings
- Good PC knowledge
- Experience from working in Team Center is beneficial
- Language: Fluent in English (oral and written), Chinese is beneficial
- Travel: Ability to travel on a global basis, mainly China as required
