Johnson Controls Marine, Norrköping, Sweden, continues to build for the future within marine refrigeration service and seeks a skilled service engineer with experience from refrigeration plants and control systems.
Large marine refrigeration plants for cruise ships and refrigerated cargo vessels
As a marine service engineer you are a vital link between our customers and us.You will be our on-site/on-board responsible for start-up, maintenance, repair & upgrade service, retrofitting and trouble-shooting of large refrigeration plants on refrigerated cargo vessels, as well as on cruise ships and other passenger ships.
With the increased market focus on optimised operational economy, a good understanding of total system functionality, in terms of the interaction between mechanical and control systems, is important in this role.
Your primary tasks will be
- Supervision and repair of cooling machinery and their control systems, on sailing ships
- Commissioning and start-up of installations at shipyards, for new built ships.
- Leading the execution of plant upgrades and retrofits.
- Trouble shooting of refrigeration units and plants, and their control systems.
- Advice to customers for optimal operation of their installations.
- Writing high quality service reports.
We believe you represent some of the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Education in refrigeration engineering
- Knowledge about centrifugal and screw compressors
- Experience with PLC control systems; brands like Siemens, ABB, SATT or similar
- Experience of marine refrigeration plants - or other marine technology
- You find it easy to co-operate with customers, colleagues and project managers, also internationally, and you are service minded
- Self-motivated, and with good communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Likes the challenge of travelling and working - in remote as well as nearby locations
- Experience of STAL products (screw compressors and/or Stalectronic control systems) is an advantage

You will be part of a team of specialized marine service engineers, operating worldwide, supported by back office engineers and other staff.You may be travelling up to 200 days per year.Your home office is in Norrköping, but you can live elsewhere in the country.
