Master Thesis Field test Customer Voice

Background of thesis project
Field test is a part of the Features Verification and Validation organization within Product Development of trucks within Volvo Group Trucks Technology. The main task is to verify function and reliability as well as validate customer perception on complete trucks and systems/components on trucks running in daily operation at haulers around the world. We use our network of designated dealers at different markets to find the best testing environment for each test object.

Since the end of 2012 Field test is responsible for the organization of Customer Voice within the verification and validation organization, i.e. to act as internal customer within Product development. This role was former held by a number of experts which has or will retire soon. Due to this it was decided to move the role/responsibility to Field test and to try and create the same delivery but in another way using the Field test network of external customers and dealers as well as the internal expertise within the Field test team.

Suitable background
Master of science in Industrial engineering or Mechanical engineering

Description of thesis work
- Map Field Test area of expertise in the validation area related to customer voice
- Investigate the pros and cons of customer voice in the form that it existed before
- Collect information from the customer of this service - what do they want

With the above as a base make a suggestion of how the customer voice service could be set-up within the Field test organization.
