About the position
We are looking for an engineer to drive materials development forward for surface coating applications, applying Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) in one of our product areas, Surface and Joining Technologies (SJT). Focus is on developing our capabilities related to our existing Höganäs Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (HICME). 

In this position you will work in close collaboration with our customers to create new alloying concepts for both existing and new applications, while also focusing on future materials trends and portfolio gaps. Additionally, you initiate and lead material development projects and also supporting customers and sales in technical questions regarding materials. You will work in an international team which also interface to Höganäs internal departments such as Application Development, Marketing, Business Development and Operations.

The position will be placed at one of Höganäs’ locations in either Sweden or Germany, depending on the candidate’s location.

Your profile

• A Ph.D. or Master of Science in Materials Engineering (or similar) is mandatory.
• You have excellent knowledge about Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) & CALPHAD methodology for predicting thermodynamic, kinetic and other properties of multi-component material systems.
• You have excellent knowledge of Themo-calc, DICTRA, PRISMA, Software Development Kits (SDKs) and specifically Python™ language-based SDK called TC-Python. You are able to write, modify and maintain scripts related to calculations of large amounts of alloys and build analyses to interpret the data produced by the scripts.
• Besides having programing skills and being innovative, it is of great importance that you are a result-oriented team player with problem-solving capabilities as well as great communicational- and collaborative skills.
• Fluently in English is a requirement.
