Our people are engaged and each individual is important since our joint efforts contribute to our success. www.fingerprints.com

FPC is seeking a Module Design Engineer to join the R&D team in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices. FPC is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packages, module assemblies to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices.

 The Role

The position as Module Design Engineer entails coordinating R&D efforts to support the development of new customer owned products through external design partners, as well as driving the development of internal reference modules. A fingerprint sensor module typically consists of a sensor chip in a semiconductor package, attached to flexible circuit board with some peripheral components. Being a visible part in high-end mobile phones and other portable devices, the sensor module is subjected to extensive industrial design requirements. This requires close collaboration with different internal design teams, subcontractors and partners in an international environment, to secure the best possible fingerprint sensor module. As Module Design Engineer you will work with the design of the HW system around the sensor. The scope is broad; PCB design, mechanical design, material stack-up and lamination of glass on top of the sensor, are parts of the module design team agenda. Also to design for testability and to define specifications and requirements for the module, fall under module team responsibility.

The work location is in Malmö or Gothenburg.

International travel to FPC suppliers, partners, and customers will be required.
