Network Engineer at DICE

Purpose of the Role

Provide day-to-day L2/L3 support for the networking infrastructure, including on-call support
Provide technical expertise to L1/L2 engineers
Act as L2/L3 trouble-shooter, and take direct involvement in resolution of outages in coordination with other groups
Responsible for Engineering and Implementation
Responsible for documentation of solutions
Responsible for training of Operations team and other L3 Engineers
Responsible for driving network-related maintenance activities
Provide Network Engineering skills and support for network projects and issues


Primary Responsibilities

This position requires the ability to quickly triage network issues and bring to resolution by assessing staff inputs, and creatively implementing workarounds or alternatives methods.
You will cover L3 support for all network related issues. You will provide guidance to L1/L2 support engineers and on-call support for break-fix issues.
In addition to support, maintenance and/or troubleshooting various technologies and issues you may be required to complete small/large projects.
There will be a requirement to update all current network infrastructure documentation and ensure compliance with all change management processes and procedures.
Must be able work and communicate effectively with the network support team, network operations center and change management and production control teams.
Network engineering also implements and supports Internet security based tools, practices and policies. You will provide secure network technology solutions to all facets of the business.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

BS in an Engineering field ? Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable experience
Minimum 4-6 years network engineering experience.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, access control lists, security, firewalls and network traffic analysis.
Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, and Brocade network devices. Cisco/Juniper routers and switches, Cisco ASR, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Juniper MX, Brocade VDX
Configuration of OSPF, BGP, SNMP, L2/L3 VLANs, DMVPN
L4-L7 Load Balancers (Citrix Netscaler and F5 preferred), SSL
Wide Area Network Telecommunications: Cisco routers, Juniper MX routers, QoS, MPLS, Metropolitan Area Networks
Network Tools: Cacti, IPAM, NetMRI, CA Spectrum, Netflow tools, Rancid, protocol analyzers
Systems Administration: Unix & Linux network tools, Rancid
Authentication services: Radius, TACACS/TACACS+, Cisco ACS
Familiarity with Amazon cloud services a plus
WAN optimization devices in a multi-site architecture.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
