About the role
Greenpeace Nordic is funded primarily by donations from our more than 150.000 donors, which adds up to annual more than 200M SEK/year. As the Finance Director you will play a key role to ensure we keep the trust from those fantastic donors so we can forward on our mission to the planet by ensuring we meet the highest standards and quality in how we oversee and report on our spending.

The Finance team supports leaders, staff and volunteers across the four Nordic countries. The team is primarily based in Stockholm and consists here of 5 accountants and one Finance analyst working from Oslo. The Finance department is responsible for bookkeeping, controlling, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reports to authorities in all four countries.

Your role entails a mixture of strategic work, combined with operational, hands-on work in Finance projects and Finance Partnering. The Finance Director leads and manages the development, execution and delivery of the Finance goals, strategy and performance. The Finance Director also has significant interaction with the Nordic Board of directors and Board audit committee, and contributes towards the Greenpeace International Finance network.

Our focus for the upcoming period is to continue to consolidate the role of Finance as a strategic partner to other departments in Greenpeace and to plan and oversee the ongoing implementation of standardised and automated finance processes.

About you
You have a minimum of 6 years experience working with Finance and some experience leading a Finance function with personnel responsibility. We are looking for a candidate who understands international and complex organisations and who has broad knowledge of most areas within Finance. It is of great importance that you have strong skills and proven achievements in Management reporting, budget processes, strategic planning, and process automation. Fluency in both written and spoken English is a requirement.

Your personal attributes will also be of great importance! You are a strong believer of collaboration and a genuine and flexible person who knows how to build trust and who shows high integrity. We also think that you are a self aware and inclusive leader with a good sense of perspective navigating complexity. Furthermore, you are a good communicator, you role model a culture of learning and development and you have the ability to engage and truly influence others. We believe that you understand the link between Finance, business and organisational strategy and that you’re proactive in your approach. To succeed in this role you know how to prioritise, achieve results, work effectively and role model high performance balanced with a healthy approach to work-life.

Your responsibilities:
- Lead the Nordic Finance team and represent Finance in the Nordic Senior Management Team, reporting to the Executive Director.
- Drive, review and implement strategy across the four Nordic offices.
- Lead the continued development and implementation of effective and automated finance processes and standards.
- Ensuring Finance processes, policies and practices meet the strategic needs of the organisation.
- Proactively identify and develop talent.
- Manage the relationship with Board of Directors and audit committee.
- Positively influence and contribute to international Greenpeace Finance initiatives, providing a Nordic perspective and contributing to overall leadership of global projects.


Additional information
This is a full time, permanent position based in our Greenpeace office in Stockholm. We can also consider candidates from one of the other Nordic offices. You will be expected to travel, from time to time, to all the regional offices.
