NVH Engineering Development & Validation Process Manager
POSITION
The Process Manager defines and manages the overall NVH Engineering Development & Validation Process for all BorgWarner product lines and active programs, is responsible to define and set standards for NVH Reporting & Analysis and advise on NVH Tools for use during the development and validation process, and is responsible to assess current NVH organizational knowledge and capabilities and develop and manage NVH Training Plans & Facility Projects to support current and future business needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
NVH Product Development Process
Responsible for Managing the overall NVH Product Development Process for all product lines and active programs:
Assess BorgWarner’s compliance to Customer NVH Requirements
Advise on Product Design for NVH performance
Define NVH Test/CAE Correlation Process and Methods
Define Process to assess risk of NVH concerns
Define Methods to judge NVH Product Performance
Advise on NVH countermeasure development methods



NVH Product Validation Process
Responsible for Managing the overall NVH Product Validation Process for all product lines and active programs:
Define required NVH DVP&R testing
Define NVH Test Procedures
Dyno/Bench Validation Testing
Vehicle Level Validation Testing
Advise on judgement of NVH Product performance to requirements



Reporting and Analysis
Define NVH Reporting Standards and Requirements for all product lines and active programs
Define NVH Analysis Methods and Metrics that define the NVH Product Performance and Risk assessment
Ensure Reporting and Analysis Standards are implemented during the product development and validation process

NVH Tools
Define NVH Tools for standard data acquisition, analysis and reporting
Advise on Advanced NVH Tools for Root Cause Analysis investigations , Modal Testing & Analysis, ODS, Acoustic Sound Source Identification
Manage/advise NVH Tool usage and methods during the product development and validation process



NVH Training
Assess current Engineering Organizational NVH knowledge
Develop and Manage NVH Training Plans for the NVH Engineering Organization
Develop and Manage high level NVH Training for the cross functional Engineering Organization



NVH Facilities
Assess current NVH Test/Hardware capabilities
Propose NVH System/Facility requirements to meet current and future product line testing needs (Ex: Semi-Anechoic Chamber, Imbalance Tester)
Provide oversight on Calibration for NVH Equipment & Sensors
Manage NVH Facility related projects



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering required. PhD preferred.
Minimum 15 years NVH Test Engineer work experience in automotive powertrain, driveline (transfer cases, transmissions, PTU’s, axles) or relevant rotating machinery applications
Acoustics and/or Structural Dynamics background
Experience with common NVH software, data acquisition, and analysis tools
Demonstrated ability to impact product design through NVH problem resolution in vehicle or powertrain/driveline subsystems
Operates in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity and in accordance with BW's Code of Ethical Conduct and compliance policies
Self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments
Good follow-thru skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across functions and locations and with all employee and management levels
