Operations Strategy Development Manager - Global Manufacturing Engineering


SUMMARY
The Operations strategy Development Manager shall support with development and re-evaluation of the global manufacturing strategies and plans. This includes analyzing data, creating plans and providing and presenting recommendations in order to secure targeted capacity and strategic make/buy decisions. Due to the strategic nature of the job, the Operations Strategy Development Manager will work closely with the Manufacturing & Logistics Management. The Operations Strategy Development Manager shall also coordinate global strategic projects related to M&L.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary
. Analyze and continuously re-evaluate the component manufacturing strategy of Husqvarna (Make vs. Buy)
. Co-ordinate and/or manage strategic cross-site projects and report progress to Manufacturing Engineering Management
. Perform strategic analyses in order for the Operations Strategy team to ensure that Husqvarna has the proper industrial system in place to achieve its financial and other performance targets within Manufacturing and Logistics.
. Co-ordinate networks of engineers in order to secure manufacturing engineering expertise withing the group.
. Support in developing proposals for a manufacturing footprint, including factory locations and product volume allocations through gathering information from various functions and locations, performing analyses, creating business case calculations and provide recommendations
Secondary
. Support in developing strategic guidelines for manufacturing to guide the Husqvarna organization in strategic decision making and ensure their alignment to the corporate strategy
. Conduct long term capacity planning and volume allocation analyses (1+ years)
. Support in developing proposal for long term investment plans for each plant
. Develop and maintain a purpose-description for all plants to provide each plant with a clear direction in line with the corporate strategy


QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

. Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in engineering
. Preferred: Master's Degree

Experience:
. Minimum 5 years of experience from supply chain, production or product development
. Experience in developing operations strategy is a merit

Languages:
. Fluency in English is required (written and oral)
. Additional languages (German, Swedish, Chinese or Japanese or other languages spoken at Husqvarna manufacturing sites) are an advantage


SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
. Strong analytical skills
. Ability to synthesize data to a strategic framework
. Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to propose relevant and fact-based recommendations
. Good understanding
