We are looking for an ambitious and curious Outreach Specialist/Marketing Coordinator to grow with our newly established Outreach team.

Join us in spreading the word about our trusted products and services, assisting the global pharmaceutical industry and other stakeholders in developing safe medicines. We are looking for an Outreach Specialist/Marketing Coordinator with experience in professional event management, who is driven by creating value for existing and potential customers and is inspired by the variety of tasks as well as professional and personal development opportunities available in this position.

The team
The Outreach team at UMC is a small, newly established unit, focused on generating income for UMC through raising awareness of our products and services, building and maintaining customer relationships, and influencing how our brands are perceived. Whether a newsletter, an event, a brochure, or a presentation, the intent is always to present UMC as fair, professional, efficient, and problem-solving.

Caring for and serving our extensive user communities, consisting of pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals, is a key priority for the team. We engage with our users globally by hosting User Group meetings and attending conferences around the world.

Another focus area for the team is to collect market data and transform it into meaningful insights that guide strategic product development decisions and effective business strategies.

The role
As an Outreach Specialist/Marketing Coordinator you will work with and support the entire lifecycle of marketing activities for selected UMC products and services. A special focus of the role will be to manage all practical aspects of UMC’s product-related external events (face-to-face as well as virtual ones) from concept until completion.

Your general responsibilities will be to:

Support the entire product marketing process at UMC by coordinating practical aspects pertaining to marketing campaigns, onboarding packages, product launches, marketing material, travel planning, conferences, and strategic partnerships;

Plan and facilitate logistics for face-to-face events and conferences;

Provide support for on-site events and conferences;

Contribute to the development and execution of marketing programs;

Coordinate virtual events and webinars and provide technical support before, during, and after these events;

Develop original copy for marketing emails, social media, print advertisements, and UMC web; and

Measure impact of campaigns and turn metrics into insights and improvements.


What you will need to succeed

-
To be successful in this role, you need to have experience in organising and arranging all aspects of professional events as a project manager, including face-to-face and virtual meetings.

You are self-driven and results-oriented with an eye for detail. You have excellent oral and written communication skills and a desire to deliver above and beyond service and support.

You have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and are fluent in written and spoken English. Extra languages are a plus.

We are the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, and manage the technical and operational aspects of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring since 1978.

As an independent, non-profit foundation, we support the World Health Organization, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders who share our vision of advancing medicines safety. Through research and development of new scientific methods, we explore the benefits and harms of medicines for patients, and offer products and services used by health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.
