We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Manager to join us at our DS Smith Packaging site in Järfälla

Reporting to the Cluster Key Account Director, the Sourcing Manager will actively manage all sourcing activities on external multi-material packaging suppliers used between us and our customer sites across Sweden, Norway and Denmark. You will be responsible for establishing the packaging sourcing strategy for your cluster as well as for selecting and maintaining the best sources of supply for the customer. You will need to consider all aspects of relationship with suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements.

We´re looking for a flexible and analytical person who is willing to adopt changes positively, finds constructive solutions, and can represent DS Smith towards third party suppliers.

Main Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, as well as maintaining and updating supplier contracts.
• Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, finance or quality assurance.
• Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies
• Proactively drive to achieve - annual savings targets, by performing quality value engineering (QVE) projects together with customer and suppliers.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Promote change in a positive manner as and when required.
• Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
• Recommend and implement improvement steps at suppliers based on scorecard results to enable better performance
• Complete regular benchmarking on the market
• Actively search for new technologies and products that can mean advantage for DS Smith on the market and/or meets our customers´ requirements

The ideal candidate

• University/College degree or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years´ experience in a similar role (sourcing or KAM experience would be valued)
• Knowledge of multi-material packaging (foam, wood, corrugated, carton, plastics, labels...) is a strong advantage
• Fluent in Swedish, advanced level of English is requirement (spoken and written)
• Proficient Microsoft Office user with advanced Excel and Power Point skills
• Project management skills and strong business acumen
• Strong communication skills are essential
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience in working in an international environment using English on an advanced level
• Results oriented and a high-energy self-starter that drives for action plans and follows up to completion.
• Perform well and remain composed & motivated under stress
• SAP experience is an advantage
• Available to travel across Europe up to 30%
