Stena Marine Management ApS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northern Marine Ferries in Glasgow, Scotland. Stena Marine Management ApS is a manning and payroll company and has two internal clients, Stena Line Baltic AS and Northern Marine Ferries.
Role Function
To supervise the section of the personnel department to ensure that the vessels are manned with competent, qualified and suitably experienced personnel. Day to day management of the department to ensure that the support services delivered match internal and external stakeholder expectations.
Main Responsibilities
• Offering guidance and direction to personnel department on the manning of vessels
• Supervision and management of the companies Database system utilised for storing all Personnel details of seagoing employees
• Responsible for the company’s recruitment, development and retention strategy for seagoing employees, reviewing present manning structures and nationality blend, making necessary suggestions for change as required
• Responsible for all training for seagoing employees
• Ensuring efficient integration between the payroll, training, other manning teams and accounts departments, assist when required with any issues or queries that arise in order to achieve maximum results
• Make the necessary recommendations to ensure the manning requirements are provided in the most effective and efficient way, mindful at all times on cost, implementing initiatives as identified and agreed
• Direct liaison with operations and technical departments, and external client representatives, on manning issues relating to employees and activities in support of company’s crewing operations
• Member of the company emergency response team
• Liaison with the accounts department on cost reporting matters
• Other tasks and adhoc project work as deemed necessary and relevant by the company
Candidate Requirements
• Crewing experience
• Strong leadership skills
• People management skills
• Sound knowledge of crew management practices
• Good skills in English (Swedish is desirable)
• Proven track record of implementing improvements (desirable)
• Sound knowledge of Swedish employment law (desirable)
You will be based in Gothenburg but your work will involve some traveling, mainly in Europe
