PhD position in surface Physics and Chemistry

Job Description: A researcher to develop chemical and biological separations based on electroactive materials is sought.. This project will draw from the fields of materials science, electronics, chemistry, physics and biology to design and test new laboratory separation systems that can be both scaled-up for use in industrial production and scaled down for use in microfluidic devices and -TAS systems.

A PhD student receives a position which is simultaneously employment at the university and a course of study. In addition to driving his/her own research (primarily in the laboratory), the student will also attend courses to further his/her education and teach undergraduate courses (typically 10% or less).

Requirements: A masters degree or equivalent is required to enter the PhD program. Candidates with a degree in chemistry, physics, electronics, technical biology or similar fields will be considered most qualified. Laboratory and/or development experience will also be merited. Familiarity with English, both written and spoken, is required.
