Polymer Specialist SQA

Position description:
- Be the SQA expert and global specialist in the area in polymers (rubber and plastic field) and providing technical support to SQA managers and engineers based on process knowledge and experience.
- Evaluate supplier´s capability within the technology by using a standardized evaluation tool, suggest areas of improvements and provide technical advice.
- Give advice in the sourcing phase and strategy development about supplier´s capability in the technology.
- Lead the training and development of others in the technology area, forecasting the workload to management, and then ensuring the resources provided are well trained to efficiently handle the workload.
- The primary scope of activity applies to parts purchased and developed by Groups Trucks Technology.
- In this position, you report to Director Technology and Supplier Evaluation.

Main responsibilities:
-The Owner of the audit tool (rubber and polymer index) for rubber and polymer which should be used as a guide for selection of suppliers of critical technologies and evaluate the supplier´s production ability to produce parts according to Volvo´s requirements.
- Be aware of new, developing technology and state of the art technology in the Polymers current and future trends, market environment, advancements by competitors, and customer expectations.
- Develop and train an auditor network within SQA.
- When required, provide technical support to Purchasing, SQA, and Product Development during crisis situations that affect projects, production and field failures.
- Place a strong focus and priority on pro-active quality assurance work that supports both sourcing and project group activities.
- Share knowledge in the polymer field in GTT through lectures, training kits, articles, workshops.
- Build a strong network within the technology to be able to perform audits globally.

Essential skills and needed experience:
- University degree in engineering or > 10 years of technical experience needed.
- Extensive and proven experience and knowledge of the technology and process.
- 3 years of quality experience.
- Automotive experience.
- Strong experience in supplier relationship
