Postdoctor in Semiconductor Device Materials

Arbetsbeskrivning

Skilled and committed employees are a crucial factor in the success of Linköping University. And we need more of them. Our core expertise comes from teachers and researchers, but a successful university requires experienced and motivated employees in many fields. Everyone is important. We need to recruit many new employees thanks to, among all, an expansion in our research activity. We need you here. We look forward to receiving your application!

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology conducts research and offers education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research, the predominant activity, is often done in collaboration with corporate and international partners. LINKÖPING UNIVERSITY
Hereby advertises a position as

Postdoctor in Semiconductor Device Materials
formally based at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, IFM

Duties
A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

The project focuses on the development of novel scalable and adaptive GaN and AlGaN material technology for high-voltage electronic applications. The main work involves homoepitaxy on GaN substrates and nanowire Ga(Al)N templates using our unique hot-wall MOCVD. The goal is to push the boundaries of current state-of-the-art in material quality by using the distinctive features of the hot-wall CVD concept and nanostructuring. The project will also involve electrical characterization via Hall effect, C-V measurements and DLTS.

The work will be carried out within the Competence Centre for III-Nitride technology, C3NiT at IFM in close collaboration with doctoral students and industrial partners. You must therefore be willing to engage in and collaborate with our industrial partners and doctoral students, and to contribute to the implementation and demonstration of the research. You will be given the opportunity to participate in project leadership within C3NiT and upon successful completion of the work a further carrier development may be sought for.

Qualifications
We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated candidate who holds a PhD degree in physics or materials science. Proficiency in MOCVD growth and electrical characterization of III nitrides is obligatory. Proven record of writing scientific articles is also required. Experience with homoepitaxial growth is an advantage.

The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

Appointment time
Two years.

Starting date
By agreement.

Salary
The University applies individual salary scales adapted to the experience of the employee and to the labour market.
