Job description
The interest in developing bio-based adhesives for wood composites is higher than ever. However, the functionality of bio-adhesives needs to be improved in order to meet industrial requirements. Your work as a postdoc will primarily consist of research in characterization and application of carbon-based materials, which includes developing optimum conditions for the application of different 2D materials in bio-adhesives for manufacturing more sustainable and environmentally friendly wood-based composites. The project will be carried out through close collaboration with Swedish and international industrial partners. Therefore, besides the scientific tasks, the position also includes responsibility for research communication by participating in national and international meetings. Publishing both popular science articles and scientific articles are central parts of the work.

The postdoctoral fellow is expected to actively participate in the department's environment and network both internally and externally, as well as develop new project ideas and seek project funding. A certain amount of teaching and supervision at basic, advanced and/or postgraduate levels may be included in the duties.

In addition to the mentor group, the postdoc will collaborate with national and international experts in the field.

Assessment criteria
Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of carbon-based materials, polymeric materials and composites are meritorious. Good scientific publication rate and experience in applying for external project funding is desirable. A postdoc fellow is part of a research team; consequently, flexibility and an ability to cooperate and collaborate are given great importance. Documented experience of research in bio-adhesives synthesis and evaluations. In the overall assessment of the scientific skill, special emphasis is placed on the applicants' potential for a successful career as a teacher and researcher.
