Process Engineer

Pulp and Performance Chemicals (formerly Eka Chemicals) is a business unit within AkzoNobel. We are a leading global force in pulp bleaching technologies, paper chemicals, colloidal silica and expandable microspheres. Our 2,400 employees serve the pulp and paper and other industries in 35 countries.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a Process Engineer with a working knowledge of designing plants and equipment for chlorine dioxide, chlor alkali and sodium chlorate plants.

The responsibilities are:
- Process design including process calculations, equipment designs, piping systems and instrumentation
- Participate in the commissioning and start-up of plants
- Produce technical process specifications for equipment purchase
- Provide specialist support to the customer?s operation and maintenance teams.
- Customer service/Trouble shooting
- Act as Project Leaders in smaller projects
- Make service visits and plant assessments of chlorine dioxide plants and chemical plants.

Requirements
We are looking for someone with a strong ability to cooperate and working in teams, well organized, good analytical skills and a global approach. Other requirements are:

- M Sc Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience preferably from chlorine dioxide technology and chemical plant projects, R&D or manufacturing
- Knowledge in project management systems
- Good understanding of industrial production process principles.
- Skills in risk assessments
- Good English language communication skills and preferably a second language such as Spanish
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
