Process- & Technology Manager to our Paper Mill

The Paper mill is responsible for producing high quality specialty paper from raw material to end product according to our customer requirements. In the Paper mill we work with continuous improvements and Lean manufacturing to achieve and exceed our quality, efficiency and cost targets.

Crane is now looking for a Manager to the Process Technology team. The team is responsible for support for current manufacturing products and processes, for managing scale-up and trials of new products, improvement projects and technical support to our customers.

The Process and Technology Manager ensures that the team effectively manages projects for quality, capability and efficiency and continuously evaluates existing processes to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices. The manager will as well as manage the group, manage and plan own projects within the group´s responsibility. The role will involve travels to vendors and customers.

Great emphasis is placed on the skills of the individual, in the areas of leadership and paper making technology. We are looking for someone who has good leadership skills without positional authority and who has hands on working knowledge of process engineer work.  

To be successful in this role, it is important that you are a result-oriented motivator who drives the team to success with coaching and mentoring. It is also important that you have good communication skills.

We are a LEAN production company, previous skills in LEAN production is an advantage.

Main responsibilities


• Manage the Process and Technology team to meet the targets of Crane Currency and the responsibilities of the team
• Evaluate existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process and equipment
• Optimize and troubleshoot the manufacturing processes
• Project management for improvements and development programs
• Drive continuous improvement work, assignments and projects according to Crane AB's policies and operations systems SMAK zones Safety, Environment, Work Environment and Quality

Your profile
• Bachelor degree or Master of Science in Engineering; Chemical, Mechanical or Pulp and paper
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Process engineer in manufacturing process managing development and improvement projects, Paper making experience highly desirable or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a role as Manager
• Strong analytical trouble shooting skills
• Practical user of Six Sigma tools desirable
• Good communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively across the organization and with customers
