Procurement Engineer

VSM Group AB in Huskvarna is a company within SVP Worldwide with around 100 employees. We are responsible for the company?s global product development and marketing of sewing machines and aftermarket products, giving consumers worldwide the opportunity to enjoy creative sewing. The products are sold under our globally leading brands SINGER®, HUSQVARNA VIKING® och PFAFF®.

Summary
The role as procurement engineer is twofold and includes both support to R&D Sweden with tasks related to sourcing in combination with product development, and support to the entire site with continuous purchases. SVP Worldwide?s global Sourcing department is managed from Singapore and you will report to our Global Supplier Management Director Alex Koh. You will work closely with not only your colleagues in Singapore but also with the company?s purchasing department located with the manufacturing in China. The main collaboration is however with the R&D department located in Huskvarna and the reason why this Procurement Engineer position is established in Sweden. R&D Sweden is appointed centre of excellence for product development and the interface between sourcing/manufacturing and product development is crucial for our success.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Sourcing Support
- Engage with R&D to source and support prototype purchases
- Actively participate in early product involvement with R&D to identify opportunities for cost reduction as well as new advanced technology
- Work with Shanghai team to source for suppliers in Asian region
- Review costed BOM and identify parts/commodities for cost reduction
- Lead negotiator/relationship management between HQ and suppliers to facilitate contract negotiations, pricing requests, compliance management, end of life settlements and problem resolution
- Execute, manage and administer supplier contracts, TAPOs, NDAs and any other required supplier agreements
Purchasing Support
- Purchase of Indirect and Equipment for office use
- Purchase and track prototype samples for R&D
- Key contact to contractors on Office matters


Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- At least 2 years working experience in manufacturing field with purchasing and sourcing background
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, eCommerce and MRP system, preferably in JDE
- Experience in Asia sourcing and good knowledge in mechanical and electronics commodities and key technologies
- Good knowledge on contracts and strong negotiation skills
- Able to work with cross-functional team
- Independent and good team player
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and organization skills
- A sense of urgency, high energy and self-motivated
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills and proficient in Powerpoint
- Preferably specialized in key technologies like printing, precision parts, keyboard, motor and electronics
- Another advantage is if you are proficient in spoken Chinese in order to communicate with our China factory and dominantly Chinese speaking suppliers
