Our dynamic team directs program launch and product life cycle maintenance processes for the procurement department. This includes developing procurement project plans for new product launches, cost-down projects, and ongoing program support throughout the lifetime of programs.

Procurement Product Line Manager (PPLM) supports product programs within a specific Stoneridge Business Unit. The PPLM directs program launch and product life cycle maintenance processes for the procurement department.  This is accomplished through the development of procurement project plans for new product launches, cost-down projects, escalation/resourcing projects and ongoing program support during lifetime of programs (maintenance of project data, tracking of new parts etc.).  The PPLM is the main stakeholder interface into and out of the procurement team towards Product line Manager and Project Management and they are responsible for monitoring executing of sourcing decisions and contracts created.

 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Lead Material Cost Improvement (MCIP) workshops with the Product Line team to reduce BOM cost for new and ongoing programs.
• Attain Quality, Volume and cost business case requirements of the product line
• Responsible for generating A3s presentations for awarded programs and future launches.
• Track and report program status at multiple internal gates and external customer meetings, related to raw material.
• Effectively introduce and direct work within the procurement team to support project objectives - timing, quality, and financials
• M%S monitoring for all new and existing programs vs Target and Sales price


• Manage Key Flawless Launch Metrics (PPAP, capacity, M%S, etc)


• Ensure all projects are flawlessly launched and risk mitigation actions are tracked to completion
• Manage material risk activities and escalate issues as required


• Lead procurement communication within the product line team (Product Line Management, Engineering, Commercial Management, Project Management and Operations Management)
• Maintain a product line procurement roadmap to support:

• Increases in product line profitability and achieve minimum targets
• Identification and execution of commodity strategy within the assigned product lines - consolidation and right sourcing
• Identification and execution of VA/VE improvement projects within the assigned product lines
• Product forecast (Long Range Plans)


• Ensure project execution aligns with commodity strategies

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:


• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
• Previous leadership experience within Project/Program Management, Product Line Purchasing Manager
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn continuously, clearly establish expectations and hold others accountable for achieving results
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
• Minimum 5 years of experience related to new program launches, material cost improvements, supplier negotiations/development activities
• Bachelor’s degree minimum: Engineering (electrical, mechanical), Business Management, Supply Chain Management or Finance degrees preferred
• 3 to 5 years of negotiation, project management and/or buying experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in automotive or electronics industries
• Working experience in a global company is preferred
• Experience in new program launch support activities, preferred
• Good experience in international procurement practices
• Experience with IATF16949 quality standards; quality techniques, preferred
• Positive and team oriented
• Strong verbal and writing skills in English
