You will be part of the group Base Engine, Powertrain who has the responsibility for all commercial activities in the area of base engine. Our group has the responsibility for activities from the projects/sourcing of new developing production materials and running business. Ensuring that these components meet our quality, cost and timing requirements is critical to our everyday operations. We develop the global supply base and commodity strategies as well as maintain supplier relationships for new and existing suppliers.

As Product Buyer you will work closely with our Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality functions and international suppliers. Your areas of responsibility will be vacuum pumps, gasket and sealing, oil filters and oil separators. You will be responsible for projects and running products to engine plant in Skövde, Sweden. One of our employees within the group is going on maternity leave, why we now are looking for the replacer.

Main responsibilities

* Negotiate and establish agreements
* Handle design changes and supplier time plans in new engine/ vehicles projects
* Drive resolution and establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
* Administrative work e.g. transact and update price files, reporting progress and result, transact purchasing orders, etc
* Participate in cross functional teams with members from engineering, quality and manufacturing
* Ensure supplier selections, establishment of agreements and issuing of purchase orders
* Drive continuous improvements activities, both within purchasing and with suppliers
* Work towards individual targets
* Frequent supplier contacts regarding day-to-day business

Required qualifications

* Business or technical University education or equivalent
* Work experience within purchasing/negotiation and/or project leader experience
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
