Position Description


Are you curious about product cyber security and how to develop and design electronic solutions to prevent deliberate harm is caused on the system.
We are experiencing exciting technology shifts at Volvo CE, where our products and services are becoming more advanced with electronic solutions, connectivity and sustainable power are leading our products more and more to become systems within systems used by our customers. These changes leave us vulnerable to cyber security threats on our products and services. You will be our expert in the area and involved to secure that our on-board electronic platform will be designed in a way that prevents and secures our products and services against these threats to protect us and our customers businesses.


This position is part of the journey to make our embedded electronic system secure from all kinds of security threats.

Embedded Electronic Systems (EES) Architecture is a function within Volvo CE’s Technology organization. We are responsible to develop and establish the electronic system architecture to be functional for all our machines meeting the stakeholder and customer needs. An important role of the EES Architecture team is to secure that we design and develop the electronic system architecture in the best way to ensure system safety and security. In security matters meaning to prevent that no deliberate harm is caused.

When working within EES Architecture team, the collaboration within Volvo CE and Volvo Group to develop common solutions, gives an extensive network with colleagues from all cultures and areas. What will you be doing?


As Product Cyber Security Engineer you are responsible for assuring the Cyber Security of our products within the Embedded electronic system function, by performing the Cyber Security activities through the life cycle of the product (System, Software, Hardware, Production) and identify threats, analyze attack path and feasibility, perform risk assessments, derive the Security Goals and document the security requirements.


Perform appropriate security analysis to ensure all product development security activities are performed according to relevant safety/security standards (TARA, FMEA, FTA etc.) ensure that the systems and components delivered are in line with the best cyber security practices and at the same time compliant with the other features and functionalities of the system safely and securely.


Managing product security work products for Automotive, Industrial and Machinery standards e.g.ISO21434 regulation and managing requirements from elicitation, definition/capture, decomposition, allocation, prioritization, tracking, traceability, test mapping and derived identification.


Perform System design using SYSML / Modelling tools like Enterprise Architect.

We also believe you have:
Relevant academic background, e.g. Bachelor and/or master’s degree
Good communication skill in English, proficiency in Swedish is desirable
Experience of working with electrical and/or electronic system in the automotive industry
Knowledge about safety-relevant embedded system/software architecture and design
Knowledge and maybe some experience in ISO/SAE 21434 and TARA (Stride methodology)
Great interest and curiosity in the area and willingness to challenge yourself and learn.
