As an Engineer at IKEA you will work in a creative environment where design, engineering, drive, communication and responsibility are some of the key words!

As Product Engineer you will take responsibility for the product documentation package and you will secure that documentation and technical specifications are updated and at correct quality level according to IKEA standards. You will take responsibility for the product quality within assigned area, do performance analysis and initiate improvements. This assignment also includes deciding what tests the product should undergo before its technical specification is finalized.

Our products are manufactured outside of IKEA of Sweden, often by several different independent suppliers. Your responsibility is to give these suppliers the very best conditions to do their part, by securing the quality and the understanding of product documentation and IKEA requirements. As Product Engineer you will also work to support the production implementation in cooperation with our trading offices around the world.

This role also includes the responsibility for chemical issues for the whole technical team. You will be the person who understands chemical requirements on a deeper level, coordinate changes in the requirements and answer questions about our products within the chemical field. In order to take on this responsibility you need to have worked with textile chemicals in printing & dyeing businesses, have chemical specialist knowledge from within IKEA or have a strong interest to learn about textile chemistry. You must also have the pedagogical ability to share this knowledge in a simple and understandable way within the organization. We estimate this part of the job to be 50%.

We want you to be experienced in working with textiles and textile production including construction and documentation, technical solutions, chemistry and cost calculation. You have the ability to take lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with trading and suppliers. You have experience in handling requirements.

As a person you have the ability to create, anchor and communicate common point of view for the technical agenda. You are able to take a stand in the important matters but you are also willing to challenge known patterns. You are a problem solver and communicator. You have the ability to organize and a willingness to share knowledge. You enjoy working in teams, have high precision in work and enjoy details.
