Arbetsbeskrivning
Tech has always been at our core since 2006, when founder Linus built the first version of Ridestore from his childhood bedroom. Since then, a lot has changed, but the focus on customers and tech remains. Fortunately, business has been good. This allows us to build the dream company we want to work for. Some examples:
- We've been mostly a remote team since 2014
- We believe in autonomy and flexibility. We don’t run sprints, avoid meetings, and try to do everything asynchronously. We want you to have a life outside of work and focus while you work.
- We try to approach decision-making in a decentralized way. You will have tremendous freedom in your work, along with great responsibility.
- We automate everything we can to do as much as possible, being as few as possible.
- And most importantly, we continuously strive to work with the smartest and most humble people we can find. We simply find it more fun this way.
What will you do?
You will work as a Product Manager in a small, competent tech team. You will work alongside existing product managers with an initial focus on back-office systems related to finance, production, and logistics. Still, the scope can and likely will grow/change as you grow with us. Some areas you will work with have not had a product-focused person until your arrival; hence, you will hopefully be able to create a lot of value by coming in with a curious attitude and solution mindset.
What’s our product portfolio?
Being a Product Manager at Ridestore poses some unique challenges since we are using quite a few systems to power our business - which, at the end of the day, is aiming to serve our customers around the physical items they buy from us. As a Product Manager, you will manage/own both software systems and self-built software products (a product is usually the glue between various systems or frontends facing consumers or internal users). You will set a vision for each product together with stakeholders, create roadmaps, and deliver on them with the rest of the tech team.
Some of the (relevant) systems you will be working with (not necessarily owning):
- Core: Commercetools headless e-commerce platform
- Finance: payments through Adyen & Klarna, mostly automated accounting through NetSuite ERP
- Logistics: Cycleon, Whiplash, Postnord
- Customer communication: Asana, Live chat, Frontapp
We believe that you:
- Have experience both managing/owning software systems and building/maintaining software products
- Are an excellent communicator, especially in writing (since we work primarily asynchronously)
- Are business savvy yet tech-savvy enough to serve as a technical advisor to the various business stakeholders
- Enjoy designing solutions to automate manual processes
- Have worked in various agile environments and are thrilled to help design the right processes for a mostly asynchronous organization
- Have experience working with e-commerce
- Like working in a self-managed environment
- Likes to laugh, have fun, and have a curious mind
Where will you work?
Remotely, we prefer CET +-2h as most of our team have a base in Europe. You’re welcome but not required to spend time in our only office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
A final note
We want a small and diverse team, so we don’t care where you come from, what you believe in, how old you are, how you look, or if you're into skiing or chess. Our process is objective, and the most suited person should get the job. That’s why we use tests to help us break human biases, in combination with interviews for you to get to know us and to know you’re the right person for the role and Ridestore.
Skip writing a cover letter; instead, you will get to write answers to some questions when you apply. So please, write it yourself; we love using AI tools but want to see you in this case.
Good luck, and have fun. We are looking forward to seeing you in the process!
