About the job
As Product Requirement Engineer, PRE, you will work in a product development team as the requirement expert, clarifying requirements and test methods to the team and making sure the products will be legally compliant in the markets where they will be sold.
You will lead the quality verification activities in the product development projects, securing the product’s compliance, quality, and safety.
You will have a strong relationship with the Products, Requirements & Compliance departments, both global and local to understand the requirements and how they will affect our products.
You will have a strong connection to IKEA’s engineers from the Purchasing organization and other stakeholders (ex. test labs) to secure the proper understanding of the product’s requirements & test methods, and its successful implementation.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
Take part in projects for developing new products, as well as occasionally projects to improve existing ones.
Clarify product requirements & test methods to colleagues and relevant stakeholders to support decisions during product’s development.
Define test plans, place test orders, and keep the lead for the projects you are involved on.
Analyze and draw conclusions from test results and take decision on next step in the development, together with other members in the development team.
You will be responsible for part of the technical documentation for new products, making sure that is compliant with all markets the product will be sold.

Qualifications:
To have a university degree in Engineering or similar experience.
To have experience in working with product development and creation and/or maintenance of product documentation.
To have a good knowledge about materials and cost drivers.
To have knowledge of the IKEA documentation systems and methods.
To have knowledge of specifications, product development requirements and test methods, as well as local & global standards,
To have knowledge about Store & Organise furniture products and range will be a plus.

You have strong communication skills and the ability to create confidence and build relations, since you will deal with multiple stakeholders.
